The Rock Band THANK from Leeds:

Noise-rock and Catholic guilt, plus a feral-looking guy making whooshing noises. It’s very sexy music, actually.

Support comes in the form of…

HAUSPOINTS:

Hauspoints make their first appearance at The Ferret after a stunning debut at the Continental earlier in the year. Hauspoints’ songs explore a distinctly northern viewpoint on modernity. They are like a love letter to popular culture that finds beauty in the mundane and celebrates the quirkiness of human existence. Some people say they sound like the Fall, which is fine by the band, but the members themselves hear the likes of NEU!, Squid and Roxy Music in the mix. Steven Hodson plays analogue and digital percussion, Nik Brierly plays synthesisers and digital percussion, Sam Almond sings and plays guitar, Rob Clarke plays guitar and sings, Sam Beaton plays saxophone, melodica and synthesisers.

TV FACE:

The band called TV FACE’s debut album Tide of Men is scheduled for release in September 2023 on Cracked Ankles (home to Evil Blizzard). The songs rage at the expectation that we should put a brave face on while we’re being kept out, pushed down, and held under; each song, a short, sharp clap back to the keep-calm-and-carry-on-gang.

SUGARSTONE:

Over the past few years, Sugarstone have been refining their unique alternative blend, yet 2022 has seen them emerge with a distinct sinister swagger that has grabbed the attention of national music tastemakers and earned support from CLASH, John Kennedy (Radio X), BBC Introducing and more. The EP has also caught the eye of Manchester’s local scene and made the band cover stars for the Manc Audio playlist and feature as one of Visit Manchester’s ‘Top 5 upcoming artists’.

HELL ON HEARTH:

Unsettling ambient.
