Then Thickens / 1.21 Gigawatts
Originally a solo project from Jon-Lee Martin, Then Thickens exploded into the noisy fivesome standing before us in 2011. Support slots with Biffy Clyro, Echo & The Bunnymen and Mariachi El Bronx have followed, with Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro) championing the band’s ‘dirgey pop’ in the NME.
Then Thickens are currently writing and recording their 3rd album, and will be showcasing new material alongside favourites from ‘Death Cap At Anglezarke’ and ‘Colic’.
1.21 Gigawatts are an indie rock band from Preston, Lancashire. They write pop songs with sick riffs and awesome licks. They do not believe in ghosts. 1.21 Gigawatts sing songs about sport as a metaphor for life and vice versa and versa vice. They have an opinion on North Korea. Their dress code is strictly smart-casual. I rest my case.
