The band is the brainchild of Mark Wareing and Ajay Saggar (both former members of Dandelion Adventure….John Peel favourites). The double drummer lineup is augmented by the following based on availability: Dave Chambers (formerly of Cornershop), Daren Garret (formerly of The Fall and Pram), Roland Jones (formerly of Big Red Bus).
The Common Cold’s trippy, distortion-laced, psych pop-influenced tunes were written, recorded and produced by Ajay Saggar. Mark Wareing provided the distinctive voice on the recording and shows why he can be considered to be one of the best lyric writers to have come out of the UK in recent years.
The album was recorded in Preston and Krommenie (The Netherlands), mixed at Ajay’s “Soundation Studios” in Holland, and mastered in Berlin at “Dubplates and Mastering”.
“Shut Up! Yo Liberals” is the debut from TCC and probably the best thing you will hear all year.
The Fear of the Horse – Set up in Marseille in 2015 ‘Fear of the Horse’ gained the name a year later. Commuting between Marseille and London meant scrabbling for every spare moment to practice and record. Trains, cabinet makers locals, apartments, houses and even a few practice spaces became the backdrop to the recordings made. Terry Kirkbride does the drums, guitars and music. Denis does the voices, noises, tapes, words and music.
